A Timber Landmark: The Open-Air Theatre for Steudltenn
by Kraterfajan

Like a lighthouse rising from the rural landscape, framed by mountains, this structure becomes a landmark—a spatial anchor and a stage for transformation.
It is both a point of orientation and a place of imagination: an open-air theatre for the Steudltenn collective, a playground by day, and a scene for performance by night.
Entirely built from wood, the structure unfolds through ramps and platforms, culminating in a quiet core
A space of retreat and reflection. This vertical chamber, directed upwards, invites stillness and escape, guided by the rhythm of the timber elements that encase it.
Kraterfajan set itself the mission to embody these diverse functions and ephemeral moments in one cohesive spatial narrative. To translate the demands of performance, play, and repose into an architectural form that is at once fragile and resilient—an open invitation to inhabit, to engage, and to transform.
Here stands not just a structure, but a living stage—where the dialogue between material, light, and human presence becomes an act of continual creation.
